Just a couple important experts:

Project Title:

Object Driven, Natural Playspaces

Thesis Statement:

Open-ended objects and materials alongside natural, outdoor spaces, create optimal environments for play.

Implementation Plan:

My next step for my Thesis project “Object Driven, Natural Playspaces” will be to design a series of playspaces. Based off of the research I have done, I am interested in considering how playspaces would alter in different built environments. To this end, my plan to design, using 3d modeling software, and possibly building prototypes, four different playspaces:

  1. In the public urban right of way (ex: a sidewalk)

  2. In a space where an urban playground already exists

  3. In a large urban park

  4. In a museum’s interior

For each of these spaces, I will choose a space that actually exists so that I can think site-specifically about the community that would be using the playspaces, and hopefully interview the people who would use them.
